Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at vh@lakeridgeliquor.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes but you probably won't be able to just walk in off the streets and get a bottle!  We see a fair amount of allocated and hard-to-find whiskey but we reserve most of it for our loyal customers who support us throughout the year.  Previously, we've held a silent auction over the holiday season and donated the proceeds to the Salvation Army's holiday toy drive.  We've also just straight up given it away on our Instagram page.  Every once in a while, we'll release a bottle or two into the wild just to spice things up but for the most part, we hang on to it so our loyal supporters have access to it.

Mostly products from the Sazerac portfolio though we occasionally see treats from others:

  • Buffalo Trace bourbon
  • Sazerac Rye whiskey
  • Eagle Rare 10 year bourbon
  • Geoge T Stagg bourbon
  • Elmer T Lee Single Barrel bourbon
  • EH Taylor Small Batch bourbon
  • EH Taylor Single Barrel bourbon
  • Blanton's Single Barrel bourbon
  • WL Weller Special Reserve bourbon
  • WL Weller 12 year bourbon
  • WL Weller Antique 107 bourbon
  • WL Weller Single Barrel bourbon
  •  Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year bourbon
  • Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 year bourbon
  • Elijah Craig 18 year bourbon
  • Yamazaki 12 year Japanese Whisky
  • Penelope Rio Bourbon
  • High West Midwinter Night's Dram rye whiskey

Sadly, when it comes to the HIGHLY allocated bottles such as Pappy Van Winkle 15 year and rare expressions of Weller, Eagle Rare, Blanton's and the rest, there are just so few of these bottles that make it to our market that we don't see them.  Maybe some day!

We can, but we don't keep them in stock.  Depending on how quickly you need one, we can usually accommodate most reasonable requests. We have plenty of Sankey keg taps and keg tubs available for rent as well.  We also have jockey boxes available for more advanced keg dispensing needs.

Yes!  We carry a limited selection of cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco.  Including menthol cigarettes!

Not currently.  We did for a few years both before and after the pandemic but have since gotten off all delivery platforms.  We may revisit the subject at some point but have no plans to do so in the immediate future.

Not yet but hopefully soon!

Every one of them except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day!  All liquor stores in Minnesota are required by law to be closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day so don't be like the 250+ sad pandas we have every year that call us on those days hoping for a miracle.  Luck favors the prepared!

Absolutely!  If we don't carry something that you love, let us know.  Even if it's just a single bottle of your favorite obscure liqueur, we don't mind doing our homework to see if we can find it for you.

Definitely conflicted at first but we feel like in the long run, it's a great move for the roster.  KAT was a great steward of the franchise, meant a lot to the community and he will be missed; but we love the cap flexibility that it affords us into Anthony Edwards' prime.  In Tim Connelly, we trust!

Glad you asked!  All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.  Bourbon is a member of the whiskey family but must meet certain requirements to be considered bourbon.  Specifically, for a whiskey to be considered bourbon, it must:

  • Be made in the United States
  • Be made with a mash bill containing at least 51% corn
  • Be aged in new oak charred barrels
  • Be distilled to no more than 160 proof (80% ABV) and entered into the barrel at 125 proof (62.5% ABV).
  • Be bottled in between 80 (40% ABV) and 150 proof (75% ABV)
  • Have no additional flavorings or colors added

If we're done using it, maybe!  We've come to learn that people love store display pieces from liquor stores.  If we're done using a display piece, we will put it in the front of the store with a "free" sign attached to it.  (That's your sign that we're officially ready to re-home it).  But you gotta be quick!  Most times these display pieces don't last more than an hour or two.

Not really... but maybe!  We are thankful to be fully staffed at the moment, but things can change quickly.  We are always looking for good people though!  If you're a reliable and personable individual with a knack for legendary customer service AND happen to be looking for a side hustle, let us know!  You can email us at VH@lakeridgeliquor.com or stop in and ask for an application.  Nights and weekends tend to be the most common needs at our store.
